A. 이미 계획되었거나 생각하고 있었던 행동과 사건에 대해 이야기 하려 할 때
현재진행형 / going to를 사용합니다.
ex) She's making a speech at the conference next week.
Are you seeing Tony this week? ( = do you have an arrangement to see him?)
I'm tired. I'm not going to work any more tonight.
We're going to do some climbing in the Pyreness.
A-1. 약속이나 계획등을 이야기 할 때에는 "Will"을 사용하지 않습니다.
ex) Apparently, the council are closing / are going to close the old library.
B. 미래에 비록 확실한 계획/약속이 만들어져 있지 않더라도 무엇인가를 할 의지/계획에 대해 이야기 할 때에는
현재 진행형보다
"going to"를 우선으로 합니다.
완벽하고 꼭 실행될 계획이라는 것을 강조하려고 할 때에는
현재진행형을 우선으로 합니다.
ex) Before I go to China next year, I'm going to some Cantonese
They're leaving from Frankfurt airport at 6.30 pm.
I'm still not feeling very well, so I think I'm going to see the doctor some time this week.
We're having a party on Sunday, 12th November. Can you come?
C. 미래에 대해 표현할 때 아래와 같은 경우에는 현재진행형을 사용하지 않는다.
- 우리가 제어할 수 없는 사건/행동에 대해 예측하거나 보고하는 경우
ex) I think it's going to / will rain soon. ( not I think it's raining soon.)
Scientists say that the satellite is going to / will fall to Earth some time this afternoon. (no the satellite is falling)
- 지속적인 미래 상황에 대해 언급할 때
ex) People are going to live / will live longer in the future.
The brothers are going to own / will own most of the buildings in the street before long.
Her new house is going to have / will have three floors.
- "be"동사와 사용할 때
ex) John's going to be a shepherd in the school play next week.
I'm going to be in Tokyo in May.
D. "going to + go" 형식을 피하려는 경향이 있고, 대신 go의 현재진행형을 사용한다.
ex) I'm going to town on Saturday.
Alice is going to university next year.
